Well we made it to the due date ~ with a 21 day old baby boy :) Dylan is doing great! Gaining weight well, sleeping fairly well and we think enjoying life.
A friend of ours visited yesterday and said, wow, this house just seems calm. A nice thing, but it was probably calm because my mom was here for a couple days helping and at that moment weeding my front flower beds that were in desperate need of attention so I could stay in, feed, change diapers, rest, etc.
The other big excitement of the day was getting our order of cloth diapers delivered by UPS! Now if we can get daddy a bit more comfortable with them we should be in good shape :) The diapers we ordered were pocket one size. That means they look like regular disposable diapers (but they are cloth and reusable of course) and they have a little opening into a pocket that you put an absorbant insert. If you have a heavy wetter or are using them overnight, you put in two inserts. Then you put in on the baby like a normal diaper. When you take it off, pull out the insert and throw the insert and diaper into the diaper pail for washing. As Dylan grows we simply adjust the diaper to fit him.
We also have some of the old school prefold diapers that you fold and put on and then put on a waterproof cover - these are a bit more tricky, but once you do a few, it's pretty easy. The pocket diapers we'll send with Dylan to daycare, the other ones use just at home.
We've had so many visitors to the house friends, people from church etc...it's been hard to sneak on and blog at all. Things seem to be settling down now though so hopefully I can write a bit more.
