This past week I reflected at our Advent Taize service at church. My reflection was on the visitation of Mary by the angel Gabriel. From Luke, Chapter 1.
26In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin's name was Mary. 28The angel went to her and said, "Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you." 29Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. 30But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God.
It was amazing to think back to the moment before. The moment before we realized we were going to have a child. Then all the moments and thoughts that followed, both joyful and fearful. It was wondeful to reflect (Unfortunately, I had a written idea that changed as I spoke, so I don't have a full reflection to put in the blog.) and share some of those emotions with the community at Lake Park.
Thinking about that, below are some pictures from the baptism.
Dylan is doing much better now. He had his 4 month well baby visit today and weighed in at 12lbs, 14oz. and he is now 25 inches long. That is about 50% for height and 15% for weight, but the pediatrician isn't concerned. She said after the holidays we could start some solids, but to wait until after since it is better to start closer to 6 months rather than right at 4....
We took most of the pictures before the service since Dylan was sick and we knew we would be leaving quickly afterward. You can tell we didn't stop to really pose well on some shots!
Dylan's Godparents - Hank and Angie - their kids call us Auntie and Erica, so perhaps they can be Uncle and Hank.
Aaron, Kristie (Eric's sister) and the boys (L to R) Wyatt, Grant and Brett
My mom (Pearl), sister (Angie) and us
at Lake Park kids from the congregation are invited to come up to watch closely... I just love this!
Randy (Eric's dad) and us...
