Full weekends, more to come...

It seems fall brings so much to do.  Pick vegetables, cover the vegetables on the nights of early frost predictions, only to discover in the morning, no frost settled on the plants.  Then uncover the plants and hope that a repeat performance isn't demanded the next night.  Get back into the real swing of things at work and the fall traffic patterns of the city - meaning, busier than usual at all the worst times.

With all of that we also have lots of projects, of course.  Last weekend Eric dug out some old yew bushes that I have detested since we moved into this house.  Today I worked on pulling out smaller roots and realized how much I really do not like yew bushes!  I managed to get some out and dig out some peony bushes for transplant.  It's going to be a lot more work before it's done.

Also today, we hit up the Home Depot to get the screen door Eric ordered.  He had to modify the door with some tricky custom work, but after over 7 years of living with the nasty old back door we finally have a door that doesn't have a ripped screen and scratches all over.  It actually looks nice :)  You'll have to see it in person to get the full effect.  It really did take all day, but Eric saved a couple hundred dollars by not buying a custom size - thank goodness for handy husbands!

Of course, we had to pause for a little time to teach Dylan about the joys of power tools!
